26 / Pushups
The method

Field note / 001

Why
26?

The number is not magic. Repeating the same small contract every day is the point.

01 / Number

Small enough to start

Twenty-six is intentionally ordinary. It is not a heroic workout, a transformation challenge, or a performance identity.

It is small enough to do before the day gets complicated and big enough to remind you that your body still gets a vote.

02 / Daily

Same number, same promise

Changing the target every day turns the habit into negotiation. 26 Pushups keeps the contract simple: show up, count honestly, move on.

Some days are easy. Some days are ugly. The streak is not about perfect energy. It is about keeping the appointment.

03 / Baseline

Start where you are

If full pushups are not available yet, the method still works. Start with wall pushups, incline pushups, knee pushups, or a lower rep baseline.

The app can help you ramp toward 26 without pretending every body starts from the same place.

04 / Rep

What counts

A rep counts when you choose the variation, move with control, and count it honestly. Range and form matter more than speed.

If your form breaks down, scale the variation instead of turning the number into theater.

05 / Missed

No streak freezes

A missed day resets the streak because the streak should mean something. That is not punishment; it is feedback.

The next morning is still available. The method is strict about the count and forgiving about being human.

06 / Quiet

No audience required

There is no leaderboard, no follower count, and no social feed. The work does not become more real because strangers watched it.

Private progress is still progress. Especially when it is repeated.
